Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and specialized treatments like botulinum toxin therapy. Manage complex care procedures such as ventilator management, catheterization, ostomy care, and wound suturing to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and medical standards. Perform diagnostic evaluations, interpret laboratory results, and utilize ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes. Provide patient education on health management strategies including pain management, medication adherence, nutrition, and discharge planning. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and confidential environment. Support triage activities in urgent care or emergency room settings by prioritizing patient needs based on acuity levels. Assist with specialized procedures such as cardiac catheterization, trauma medicine interventions at Level I/II trauma centers, or neonatal resuscitation procedures in PICU or NICU environments. Document all nursing activities thoroughly in medical records while adhering to NCQA standards for quality assurance. Experience Proven experience working as a Registered Nurse in diverse settings such as hospital medicine, critical care (ICU/CCU), emergency medicine, or post-acute care environments. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and order entry. Critical care experience preferred, especially within Level I or Level II trauma centers or ICU units managing acute pain and trauma cases. Familiarity with specialized nursing procedures like IV insertion, phlebotomy, laboratory specimen processing, and aseptic techniques. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is highly valued; familiarity with geriatrics, memory care, hospice & palliative medicine is a plus. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and medical terminology ensures precise documentation. Strong understanding of infection control practices along with experience in infection prevention protocols across various healthcare settings. Ability to perform physical examinations confidently while maintaining high standards of patient safety and comfort.
