Category Nursing - RN-Operating Room Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic role supporting surgical teams and patient care by utilizing your expertise as an Operating Room Registered Nurse. In this contract opportunity, you'll be an integral part of a multidisciplinary surgical environment, ensuring patient safety and smooth operating room procedures.
Qualifications:
Active and unencumbered RN license Minimum of 1 year recent operating room experience as an RN Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Thorough knowledge of surgical equipment and sterile technique Strong critical thinking, assessment, and organizational skills Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure settings Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with surgical teams, anesthesia, and support staff
Schedule/Hours:
Variable shifts, may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays, based on surgical caseload and departmental needs
Responsibilities:
Circulate and/or scrub in various surgical procedures, complying with safety and infection control standards Prepare operating room before procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are available and functioning Monitor patient status throughout procedures, providing real-time support to surgical team and anesthesia provider Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of interventions Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements Assist with pre-op and post-op patient assessments and handoffs Respond promptly to emergent situations, advocating for patient safety at all times
