1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position in an outpatient surgery center setting, requiring a minimum of 3 years of PACU experience and a strong ophthalmology background. Details Position is located in an outpatient surgery center adjacent to the main acute care hospital facility PACU Phase I and Phase II experience required Strong ophthalmology background required for this role Patient ratio is 1:2 Day shift schedule: 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM No weekend requirements Post-shift call required from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM; frequency varies based on departmental need Charting is done in Epic; experience required Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination Requirements Active CA RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS Minimum 3 years of PACU experience required First-time travelers may be considered with a minimum of 5 years of PACU experience Phase I and Phase II PACU experience required Ophthalmology experience required Epic EMR experience required At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information RNs are required to wear Royal Blue scrubs All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; scheduling requests due to additional outside employment will not be considered Block scheduling is not available for this position Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility Parking is complimentary
