Position Summary Foothill Surgical Institute is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing surgical team. Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse, you will: Prepare patients for surgery by completing comprehensive pre-operative assessments and reviewing medical histories. Verify physician orders, informed consents, laboratory results, and required documentation. Establish IV access and administer medications and IV fluids in accordance with physician orders and nursing protocols. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other clinical staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care. Monitor patients throughout the perioperative process, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition. Provide compassionate post-anesthesia and post-operative care while monitoring recovery and pain management. Educate patients and their families regarding post-operative care, medications, activity restrictions, and discharge instructions. Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record. Maintain compliance with infection prevention standards, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment while maintaining the highest standards of patient-centered care. Qualifications Required Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Minimum of 1 years of RN experience (ASC, operating room, pre-op/PACU, ICU, ED, or perioperative experience preferred). Current BLS and ACLS certifications. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment. Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care with professionalism and compassion. Preferred Previous Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience. Experience in Pre-Op, PACU, Operating Room, or Perioperative Nursing. Moderate sedation recovery experience.
