Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Registered Nurse (RN) | Camp Nurse! We are urgently hiring passionate and dedicated nurses who are eager to make a difference in the lives of students at our outdoor camp. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive health services to ensure the well-being of campers throughout their time at camp. You will collaborate with camp counselors, administrators, and healthcare professionals to promote a healthy camp environment and support students needs in an outdoor setting. Shifts Available We are hiring nurses for rotating shifts to provide 24-hour coverage:
AM Shift:
7:00 AM•3:30
PM PM Shift:
3:00 PM•11:30
PM NOC Shift:
11:00 PM•7:30 AM Responsibilities Deliver exceptional nursing care to campers, including health assessments, medication administration, and first aid response in an outdoor camp setting. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with FERPA regulations. Identify communicable diseases, and implement infection control measures to minimize outbreak risk within the camp community. Respond to injuries, illnesses, and outdoor-related incidents (insect bites, dehydration, minor injuries, etc.) common in a camp environment. Participate in camp health and wellness initiatives to promote camper safety throughout their stay. Act as a liaison between families and district staff to facilitate access to necessary services. Qualifications Current RN license in the state of California. First Aid Certification Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or camp nursing preferred but not required. Strong assessment skills with knowledge of medical terminology and patient care protocols. Ability to work effectively with children, including those with developmental disabilities or special healthcare needs. Knowledge of emergency procedures and critical care experience is a plus. Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with campers, parents, and staff members. Comfortable working in an outdoor camp environment.
