The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in infection control regulations, epidemiology, and healthcare infection prevention strategies. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with health regulation policies, CDC guidelines, and long-term care regulations while safeguarding patient health through meticulous infection prevention practices. The successful applicant will demonstrate leadership in managing infection control programs, maintaining accurate medical records, and fostering a culture of safety and quality care. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies aligned with CDC guidelines, OSHA standards, and state regulations to prevent infectious diseases within the facility. Conduct comprehensive patient observations and monitor for signs of infectious diseases, ensuring timely intervention and documentation review. Lead infection prevention initiatives by educating staff on aseptic techniques, microbiology principles, and disease prevention policies. Oversee data collection related to infection rates, compliance metrics, and epidemiological trends to inform continuous improvement efforts. Manage medical records related to infection control activities, ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance in documentation practices. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans addressing infectious disease care and microbiology considerations. Supervise the management of long-term care regulations and ensure adherence to healthcare infection prevention standards across all departments. Facilitate training sessions on infectious disease protocols, health regulation policy updates, and public health best practices for staff development. Experience Proven LVN experience with a focus on infection control, epidemiology, or public health within healthcare settings such as assisted living facilities, hospitals, or long-term care environments. Demonstrated expertise in managing infection prevention programs at Level I or Level II trauma centers or acute care hospitals with complex patient populations. Extensive knowledge of microbiology, anatomy, physiology, and disease transmission mechanisms essential for effective infection control. Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) processes and data management systems used for tracking patient information and infection metrics. Strong leadership skills with experience supervising healthcare teams and implementing management strategies that promote safety and compliance.
