Job Description Health Office/ Substitute Nurse Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Category 8

Salary:

$38.50 Per Hour As the key to a comprehensive health program, this position is concerned with Oaks Christian's approach to the health and medical needs of its students and staff, as is customary in school environments.

Responsibilities:

Exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, demonstrating a Christ-like attitude in performing all work. Attend to ill or injured students, faculty, and staff, providing required first aid and other emergency care. Maintenance of student records as required by law or as deemed appropriate within departmental operations. Assess health of students, staff, and sometimes family members (through observation, examinations, screening, and history recording). Serve as a resource for teachers and administrators. Establish, maintain, and control the administration of medication in accordance with established procedures. Implement accepted communicable disease control through exclusion standards, and report communicable diseases to the proper authorities. Interpret student health status to teachers and parents. Assess students with suspected child abuse and report such cases to the authorities. Educate Health Department staff, parents, and students on school health policy and procedures. Confer with students, employees, parents, doctors, medical agencies, etc., regarding health guidance. Communicate and coordinate Health Department activities with other departments and personnel on campus. Trained for medical management for disaster preparedness and implementation.
