Job Description

MLK Community Hospital seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department, providing high quality, culturally competent care to a diverse, underserved community. The ER RN performs rapid triage, stabilizes acute and critical patients, administers medications, and coordinates care with a multidisciplinary team in a fast paced setting. Responsibilities include continuous assessment, patient and family education, and accurate EMR documentation. This role supports our mission of equity, respect, and innovation while offering professional growth in a modern, community-focused hospital. Responsibilities Perform rapid triage and initial assessment of emergency patients Provide evidence-based emergency and critical nursing care Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient status Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and follow-up Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMRMaintain infection control, safety, and regulatory standards Participate in emergency response and resuscitation efforts (codes) Support hospital mission of equitable, compassionate community care Required Skills Emergency nursing Triage assessment IV insertion and medication administration Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition ACLS protocols
