HCA Healthcare is seeking an Adolescent Mental Health Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to teens in an acute behavioral health setting. You will complete comprehensive mental health and risk assessments, administer medications, monitor treatment responses, and support individual and group therapeutic interventions. Working closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and families, you will develop and implement care plans, ensure safety through skilled crisis intervention, and contribute to discharge planning. Responsibilities Provide direct psychiatric nursing care to adolescent patients in an acute or inpatient setting Conduct comprehensive mental health, suicide, and risk assessments and document findings accurately Administer medications, monitor side effects, and evaluate treatment effectiveness Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team Assist with and support therapeutic groups and family-focused interventions Use crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and coping strategies Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other team members Participate in discharge planning and coordination of follow-up services Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection control standards Required Skills Psychiatric assessment Suicide and risk assessment Medication administration Care planning Crisis intervention Behavioral health documentation Family and patient education Interdisciplinary team collaboration De-escalation techniques Electronic health records (EHR)
