Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Operating Room Circulating Nurse, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of surgical procedures. As a key member of the surgical team, you will coordinate patient care before, during, and after surgery, providing critical support to surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. Your expertise in aseptic technique, medical documentation, and patient assessment will help deliver exceptional surgical outcomes. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments are sterile and ready for procedures. Act as a central communication hub during surgeries, coordinating between team members and managing intraoperative needs. Monitor patient status throughout surgery by observing vital signs and responding promptly to any changes or emergencies. Assist with maintaining sterile fields and adhering to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques. Document all aspects of patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR) system. Support surgeons with instrument handling, suturing, and other technical tasks as needed while ensuring patient safety at all times. Facilitate proper specimen collection/processing and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Qualifications Valid nursing license with current registration in the relevant state or country. Proven experience working in an operating room environment with OR experience. Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, medical terminology, and physiology relevant to surgical procedures. Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Critical care experience is advantageous. Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety standards.
