J OB OVERVIEW

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) provides safe, compassionate, and timely care to patients with acute and emergency medical needs. The RN coordinates and implements individualized patient care plans using the nursing process while practicing within their scope of practice and in accordance with professional standards, organizational policies, values, and mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to optimize outcomes. Provide timely triage, treatment, evaluation, and accurate clinical documentation. Apply critical thinking and evidence-based practices in a fast-paced environment. Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate transfers, discharges, referrals, and ongoing patient needs. Educate patients and families, delegate appropriately, and maintain professional, ethical, and state nursing practice standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Current and active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license.

• Required Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certification (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire).
• Required Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ( ACLS ) certification (or be obtained within six (6) months of hire).
• Required Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support ( PALS ) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification (or be obtained within one (1) year of hire).
• Required Current Trauma Nursing Core Course ( TNCC ) certification (or be obtained within one (1) year of hire).
• Required Current STABLE certification (or be obtained within one (1) year of hire).
• Required Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (or be obtained within one (1) year of hire).
• Required Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
