Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) care for adult patients. Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform care plans. Administer medications accurately, including injections and IV infusions, following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols. Monitor patient responses to treatments such as ventilator management, tube feeding, and acute pain management, adjusting care as needed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on diagnostic evaluations, laboratory testing, and medical imaging procedures like sonography or CT scans. Document all patient interactions meticulously within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with complex procedures such as catheterization, suturing, or ostomy care while maintaining sterile processing standards. Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health coaching strategies. Experience Valid RN license with current registration in the applicable state or region. Proven experience working in medical-surgical units within hospital settings; trauma center experience is highly desirable. Strong background in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Epic for accurate documentation and patient record management. Hands-on experience with IV insertion, medication administration, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and infection control practices. Knowledge of advanced nursing procedures including airway management, ventilator support, and acute pain management techniques. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs is advantageous.
