Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a young student in an educational environment. As a Registered Nurse, your presence will directly impact the well-being and daily experience of a 5-year-old attending school Monday through Friday from 9:05 AM to 3:35 PM. Working in close coordination with educational staff, you'll ensure a safe, nurturing atmosphere as you attend to specific medical needs throughout the school day.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state Experience providing nursing care for pediatric patients Prior exposure to a school or educational setting preferred Confidence in monitoring central lines (no in-depth care required during the day) Familiarity with jejunostomy management and ostomy bag monitoring Strong communication skills and a compassionate, attentive approach Ability to respond promptly and effectively in emergencies
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Monitor a 5-year-old student's central line and ostomy bag throughout the school day, ensuring comfort and safety Remain attentive to the student's condition, documenting observations and communicating any necessary information with school staff and family Participate in daily routines within the classroom environment while maintaining health protocols Support the overall wellness of the student, providing reassurance and addressing any concerns Serve as a healthcare advocate within the student's support team, contributing to a positive educational experience This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference for a student with complex medical needs, while working in a collaborative and respected school environment. to become an essential part of a supportive team and bring expert nursing care to a child in need of a dedicated advocate and professional. Your expertise can help shape a safe, comfortable school experience! Compensation for this position ranges from $24.00 to $45.00.
