The Detox Nurse will play a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals undergoing detoxification from substances. This position requires a strong commitment to patient well-being, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Detox RN Responsibilities Assessment and Monitoring:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients entering detoxification programs. Monitor and evaluate patients' physical and mental health during detoxification. Implement appropriate interventions based on assessment findings.
Medical Care:
Administer medications as prescribed for detoxification and withdrawal management. Manage withdrawal symptoms and address any medical complications that may arise. Collaborate with physicians to develop and adjust detoxification plans.
Patient Education:
Educate patients on the detoxification process, potential withdrawal symptoms, and the importance of compliance with treatment plans. Provide information on healthy coping mechanisms and lifestyle changes to support recovery.
Support and Counseling:
Offer emotional support and counseling to patients during the detoxification process. Collaborate with mental health professionals to address co-occurring mental health issues. Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on substance abuse and recovery.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient progress and any concerns.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment plans.
Pay:
$48.00 - $50.00 per hour
