Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and mental health evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans. Administer medications and treatments with precision, including IV infusions, medication administration for pain management, and other prescribed therapies aligned with best practices. Monitor patient progress continuously, utilizing EMR/EHR systems to document care activities accurately and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on addiction recovery processes, medication safety, and relapse prevention strategies to empower individuals on their journey to sobriety. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, therapists, case managers, and social workers—to coordinate care plans that address physical health needs such as trauma medicine, infectious disease care, or chronic conditions. Assist with medical procedures such as suturing, catheter care, tube feeding management, and sterile techniques necessary for safe patient care. Support triage activities by prioritizing patient needs during intake assessments or emergency situations within the facility's critical care framework. Experience Proven experience working as an RN in addiction recovery or rehabilitation settings with a strong understanding of behavioral health principles. Demonstrated competence in managing acute pain and chronic conditions within a multidisciplinary team environment. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for accurate documentation and patient record management. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges is highly desirable. Knowledge of pharmacology related to botulinum toxin treatments or other injectable therapies is a plus but not required. Prior exposure to long-term care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes enhances your ability to manage complex patient needs effectively. Certification in basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) is preferred to ensure readiness for emergency response situations.
