Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status evaluations, and behavioral observations to inform individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments accurately, including psychotropic medications, IV infusions, and other prescribed therapies following strict aseptic techniques. Monitor patients' responses to interventions, manage acute pain episodes, and adjust care strategies accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and families to coordinate holistic treatment plans aligned with patients' needs. Maintain detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on medication management, coping strategies, and discharge planning to support ongoing recovery at home or in community settings. Respond promptly to behavioral crises or emergencies using critical care response procedures while ensuring safety for patients and staff. Requirements Valid RN license in good standing with current state certification. Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, or in behavioral health settings. Strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing practices, including trauma medicine, dementia care, and memory care techniques. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with medical documentation and ICD coding is preferred. Ability to perform complex patient assessments involving physiology knowledge and mental health evaluation tools. Critical care experience or ICU background is highly desirable; familiarity with trauma medicine or emergency response procedures is a plus. Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care; ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
