Job Description

As an RN Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab at HCA Healthcare in Nashville, TN, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. You will prepare patients, assist physicians during cath lab procedures, closely monitor hemodynamic status, administer medications and sedation, and respond rapidly to emergent situations. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and maintain accurate documentation, supporting HCA's culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous learning while advancing your cardiac nursing expertise. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to cardiac cath lab patients before, during, and after procedures Assist cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic data Administer medications, IV therapies, and moderate sedation per physician orders and protocols Prepare and maintain a sterile field, equipment, and supplies for cath lab procedures Perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care Respond to emergencies, including cardiac events, using ACLS protocols Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMRCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care Required Skills Cardiac catheterization procedures Hemodynamic monitoring Cardiac rhythm interpretation (ECG/EKG) Moderate sedation administration and monitoring Sterile technique and infection control IV medication administration Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Patient assessment and care planning Patient and family education
