Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Med Surg RN to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care on our medical-surgical unit. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement nursing care for diverse adult patients, coordinate with an interdisciplinary team, and support safe transitions of care. You'll monitor conditions, administer medications, perform treatments, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on the medical-surgical unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders and nursing standards. Monitor patient conditions, respond to changes, and escalate concerns promptly to the care team. Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions to support recovery and self-care. Maintain infection control, safety, and quality standards in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines. Participate in unit-based initiatives, continuous improvement, and professional development activities.
