Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Advance your nursing career supporting patients in a stepdown and progressive care unit environment. Your expertise as a Registered Nurse will help bridge the gap between critical care and general medical-surgical units, ensuring optimal patient outcomes during recovery. This contract opportunity allows you to make a significant impact, working with a dedicated interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Qualifications:
Active and unencumbered RN license Previous experience in stepdown and/or progressive care units (PCU) required Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and patient assessments Strong critical thinking, organization, and communication skills BLS and ACLS certifications (current)
Responsibilities:
Monitor and assess patients recovering from acute episodes and transitioning from higher levels of care Administer medications, manage IVs, and document all provided care accurately Respond promptly to changes in patient status, collaborating with physicians and healthcare professionals as needed Educate patients and families about ongoing care, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations Utilize clinical protocols and facility guidelines to ensure safety and high-quality care delivery Make a meaningful contribution in a challenging, supportive environment, while continuing to strengthen your skills in stepdown and progressive care.
