1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift acute care position requiring GA or compact RN licensure and prior hospital med/surg experience. Details Acute care Med/Surg unit with 36 beds Night shift, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts RN/LPN to patient ratio of 6:1, CNA ratio of 12:1
EMR:
MEDITECH
Telemetry monitoring used, though nurses do not read strips Hospitalist in house 24/7 and RT coverage 24/7 PICC team available for consultation as needed, no dedicated IV team Charge nurse and nurse aide support available on unit Occasional floating required Every other weekend required Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic surgery, bariatric surgery, AMS, and sepsis Requirements Active GA or compact RN license required Current certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS required, ACLS preferred Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital Med/Surg unit required BSN not required Driver's license required for consideration to verify residency for radius rule Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a busy acute care Med/Surg unit Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts Scrub color requirement: white tops with hunter green pants Holiday coverage required Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement Not eligible for placement if employed by the facility within the last 12 months
