Role Overview:

The RN Clinical Nurse is an integral member of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. They practice within a clinical environment guided by evidence-based standards, the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, and shared governance. Licensed and knowledgeable, they uphold the Georgia Nurse Practice Act and ANA Code of Ethics, advocating for patient voices and system policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and individualized care. Provide relationship-based, culturally sensitive care tailored to patient needs and characteristics. Partner with patients and families through effective communication, education, and goal setting. Coordinate safe, quality care via interdisciplinary collaboration and timely documentation. Support performance improvement initiatives, research, and evidence-based practices to enhance outcomes. Participate in professional development, mentorship, and resource planning to maintain a competent workforce. Adhere to organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Associates, Diploma, or Bachelor's Nursing degree (Bachelor's preferred). Active RN license (single-state or multi-state Compact). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Less than one year of clinical experience preferred; prior direct patient care experience is advantageous. Strong clinical, communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
