Manage acute pain and provide specialized care for children with complex medical conditions such as developmental disabilities or infectious diseases. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes efficiently. Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, radiology procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable. Support families through discharge planning, education on medication administration, nutrition, and home care instructions tailored for pediatric patients. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency rooms, or outpatient clinics to deliver coordinated and comprehensive pediatric care. Skills Proven experience working with children across diverse healthcare environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or emergency settings. Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to neonatal resuscitation procedures and trauma medicine. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; proficiency in ICD coding (ICD-9/10) is a plus. Competence in performing advanced nursing skills such as suturing, catheterization (including urinary catheters), tube feeding management, and ventilator support when necessary. Experience managing complex cases involving behavioral health issues, geriatrics within pediatric populations with disabilities or long-term care needs. Ability to perform triage effectively in urgent care or emergency room settings while maintaining HIPAA compliance and infection control standards. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with physical examination techniques and vital signs monitoring tailored for pediatric patients.
