•Friday Make a Difference in the Lives of Hawaiʻi's Keiki! Keiki Step Down is seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. Keiki Step Down provides safe, supportive transitional and interim housing for foster children and youth ages 5-18. Our team helps keiki stabilize, heal, and prepare for their next placement by providing consistent care in a structured, trauma-informed environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who wants to use their clinical skills while building meaningful relationships with children who need patience, stability, and compassionate support. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care, health assessments, and ongoing monitoring for children and youth. Administer medications according to provider orders and program policies. Maintain accurate Medication Administration Records and clinical documentation. Respond to injuries, illnesses, behavioral crises, and other health-related concerns. Coordinate medical appointments, referrals, and follow-up care with providers, DHS, and the care team. Support individualized treatment, behavioral support, and transition plans. Provide clinical guidance to CNAs, Behavioral Health Technicians, and other direct-care staff. Communicate important health information during shift-change handoffs. Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and trauma-informed environment. Participate in staff meetings, training, care planning, and quality-improvement activities. Qualifications Current, unrestricted Hawaiʻi RN or LPN license. Current BLS/CPR certification. Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during medical or behavioral emergencies. Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach when working with children who have experienced trauma. Ability to work collaboratively with families, DHS representatives, healthcare providers, schools, and program staff. Pediatric, behavioral health, residential care, foster care, or child-welfare experience is preferred but not required. Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-employment clearances, including criminal background, fingerprint, child abuse and neglect registry, employment history, and health/TB clearances.
