About the Role Maui Urology is a busy solo-physician urology practice in Wailuku looking for an experienced RN to join our wonderful, cohesive team. Urology is a vital field of medicine for Maui, and this is a rare opportunity to participate in curing pain, eradicating cancers, and helping members of our community return to the people and activities they love. This is a long-term, senior position with supervisory responsibilities. We are looking for a clinically experienced nurse who wants to grow with the practice and become a true partner to the provider and physician assistant in delivering excellent urologic care. Experience in urology is preferred, but a great attitude and willingness to learn is what truly matters — Dr. Carlsen and our team love to teach. Our team is small, tight-knit, and values longevity. Position Details Full-time, non-exempt (hourly with overtime eligibility) Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Approximately 3 days clinical, 2 days administrative $40 to $55 per hour, commensurate with experience — candidates with 7+ years of clinical experience should expect offers toward the upper end of the range In-person at 1883 Mill Street, Suite A, Wailuku, HI 96793 What You'll Do Assist the provider and physician assistant with all aspects of patient care, including rooming, vital signs, medication administration, injections, catheter placement, and procedural support. Assist with cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, BCG instillation, Botox injection, Xiaflex administration, urodynamics, and other in-office urologic procedures including equipment setup, breakdown, and sterilization. Triage incoming patient phone calls and provide patient education on medications, post-procedure care, and chronic therapy. Document patient encounters in our EMR and assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and care coordination. Provide clinical floor leadership and partner with practice leadership on workflow and operations. Assist in building workflow and clinical oversight for new in office procedures and therapy. Supervise patient and staff workflow, managing the day efficiently and productively. Train and mentor junior clinical staff over time. What We're Looking For Active, unrestricted Hawaii RN license. Current CPR/BLS certification.
Significant clinical experience:
minimum 5 years required, 7+ years strongly preferred. Experience in a surgical setting preferred. Strong telephone and triage skills. Demonstrated experience with electronic medical records. Hawaii resident; outer island candidates welcome. Strongly Preferred Prior experience in urology, urologic surgery, or another surgical specialty. Prior supervisory, lead, charge nurse, or mentor experience. Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW). Experience with prior authorizations for specialty medications (Lupron, Xiaflex, Botox). Pay:
$40.00 - $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
