Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. Job Description

Maquoketa Care Center, a premier, long-term care facility, is looking for an On-Call Weekend RN. This position will help support our weekend shifts by being on-call every other weekend.
Job Highlights:
Weekend coverage rotating every other week. On-call flat rate of $250 per weekend. Hourly rate of $50 per hour if called in due to call-out or emergency. On-Call Nurse is expected to be within one hour from the facility and available from Friday night through Sunday night. This is a 6-month contract (13 weekends).
Responsibilities:
Remain available during assigned weekend on-call hours and report to the facility when requested Promote safety, dignity, and quality of life for every resident Respond to changes in resident condition and advocate for their needs Coordinate with CNAs, LPNs, RNs, physicians, therapy staff, and families Administer medications and treatments with accuracy and professionalism Provide high-quality, person-centered care to residents in a homelike environment Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public Chart nurse's notes in an informative descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident's response to the care The ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during working hours. Maintain a liaison with the residents, their families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for the residents' needs Answer telephone and call lights when needed
Requirements/Qualifications:
Active RN License in Iowa Current CPR/BLS certification (CPR certification offered bi-annually) Positive attitude, empathy, and the ability to lead by example Strong assessment and time-management skills Genuine passion for working with older adults Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Bachelor's Degree Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
