Job Description
Epic Special Education Staffing seeks a Registered Nurse to serve students in school settings for the year. The RN will provide direct student care, health assessments, medication administration, and emergency response, while supporting students with diverse medical and special education needs. Responsibilities include care planning, documentation, health education, and collaboration with teachers, families, and IEP teams. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students during the school day Conduct health assessments, screenings, and ongoing monitoring for students with medical needs Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and school policies Develop and implement student health care plans, including for chronic conditions Respond to health emergencies and coordinate care with EMS and families as needed Document care and maintain accurate, confidential student health records Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and IEP teams to support students with disabilities Educate students and staff on health, wellness, and infection control Communicate regularly with families and healthcare providers regarding student health needs Participate in school health initiatives and follow state and district nursing guidelines Required Skills Pediatric nursing Care planning and documentation Medication administration Health assessments and screenings Emergency response and first aid Chronic disease management (e.g., asthma, diabetes, seizures) Special education/IEP collaboration Electronic health records Family and multidisciplinary team communication Infection control
