We are seeking an experienced school nurseeither RN or LPN/LVNto provide dedicated 1:1 support for a male student with complex medical needs. This full-time contract opportunity is situated in a supportive educational environment within the Naperville, IL area. In this role, your day-to-day focus will center on delivering essential care, fostering safety, and ensuring the student remains engaged in classroom activities and transportation. Youll work closely with teachers and staff, making a direct, positive impact.

Desired Qualifications:

Active Illinois RN or LPN/LVN license required Previous experience supporting pediatric or school-aged individuals with medical needs, preferably in a school environment Strong assessment and critical thinking skills Experience monitoring and supporting students with sleep apnea and oxygen needs Confident in performing procedures such as suctioning and supporting use of assistive medical equipment (vibrating vest, oxygen, wheelchair) Comfortable providing care on the school bus Compassion, patience, and a collaborative approach

Key Responsibilities:

Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care for a wheelchair-bound student throughout the school day and during transportation Monitor for signs of respiratory distress or sleep apnea Perform suctioning every two hours and monitor oxygen levels continuously Ensure proper use and maintenance of the vibrating vest and other medical equipment Communicate any changes in condition to caregivers and educational staff Maintain detailed and accurate health records per regulatory guidelines This contract role offers the chance to truly make a difference while working in a structured school environment.
