Job Description
Shift:
7:00 PM- 7:00
AM Experience:
2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months. 12 months of Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years). Experience with Epic is required.Requirements:
Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission). This role may require floating to additional units and locations Local & travel allowed. COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted. No current placement allowed atProgram:
Medical Solutions Plus Program- Blessing Hospital.
Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- Total joint experience required.
- Understanding of PCA pumps, reversal drugs (Narcan), sepsis management, TPN/lipids, and narcotic usage required.
- 1 year of experience
- surgical experience required.

Unit Details:
- Inpatient surgical Med Surg/Tele unit with neuro and post-surgical patients, including laminectomy, cervical fusion, LESI, ostomies, hernia repair, total hip/knee replacements, fem-pop bypass, dialysis catheter insertions, BKA/AKA, sepsis, chronic pain, urgent OR cases, and IV antibiotic therapy.
- Heparin drips titrated per protocol.
- Tele monitor tech available; RNs interpret strips. Uses Draeger monitors.
- LPNs are available, and virtual admission/discharge nurses assist. Primary care nursing model is frequently used.
- CPAP home units, Airvo possibly, and occasional BiPAP on unit; RT manages respiratory equipment.
- Fast-paced unit with heavy patients; can receive 8-12 surgery admits per day while also discharging patients.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend.
- Holidays in rotation with core staff.
- No call.
Floating Requirements:
- Float to like units only.
