This school-based RN role is tailored for individuals with school nursing experience, ready to start immediately and continue through June 4th. With a 35-hour work week located onsite, you'll be positioned to make a lasting impact in a fast-paced setting, supporting Lakeview Elementary. Your ability to prioritize, respond rapidly to high-alert scenarios, and establish a clear line of action will be essential in maintaining student well-being. The role involves frequent multitasking and flexibility as you navigate daily health concerns within the school community.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current, active RN license in the state of Illinois. Previous experience working as a school nurse, including responsiveness to emergencies. Strong clinical assessment skills, with the ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment. Capacity to work independently while communicating effectively with staff, students, and parents. Up-to-date certifications and training in school health practices are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care and first aid to students and staff. Respond swiftly to high-priority medical situations, exercising sound judgement. Manage individualized healthcare plans and administer medications as prescribed. Maintain accurate health records and communicate health updates as needed.
