Job Description

Where Recovery Begins and Expertise Grows Every successful surgery needs an exceptional recovery team behind it. Post-Surgical Services at Memorial is a 22-bed unit designed to care for patients recovering from a wide range of procedures, including orthopedic, general surgery, urology, bariatric, gynecology, plastic, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries. Nurses on this unit play a vital role in helping patients regain strength, manage pain, and move confidently through the recovery process after both planned and unexpected surgeries. What makes this unit stand out is the depth of expertise and support behind it. As part of Memorial's Orthopedic Center of Excellence , the team has been instrumental in the hospital's Joint Commission Disease-Specific Certifications for total knee and total hip replacements . Nurses work closely with surgeons, therapy teams, dietitians, and wound care specialists to provide well-rounded, patient-centered care that supports both physical healing and emotional recovery. This is a unit where teamwork is strong, continuing education is encouraged, and nurses are supported in growing their careers through specialty certifications and leadership that invests in professional development. If you're looking for a unit that combines surgical excellence, strong teamwork, and the opportunity to make a visible difference in a patient's recovery, Post-Surgical Services is the place for you.
