The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements. Qualifications Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two (2) years of acute care experience; such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association Additional advanced life support certifications may be required based on unit or department specialty Why Join IU Health?
