Shift:

10-hours days 40 hours/week. (4

• 10) 13-week assignment Deliver comprehensive preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring all necessary documentation and consents are completed accurately.

Maintain sterile field protocols and aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety. Assist surgeons with instrument handling, suturing, and other intraoperative tasks while adhering to strict safety standards. Monitor vital signs, manage airway equipment, ventilators, and IV infusions during surgeries in accordance with best practices. Document all aspects of patient care meticulously within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide postoperative care instructions and monitor recovery progress, addressing acute pain management needs and potential complications. Collaborate effectively with anesthesia providers, surgical teams, and ancillary staff across various specialties including ophthalmology, cardiology, trauma medicine, and pediatrics. Adapt quickly to different healthcare environments by demonstrating flexibility in scheduling and clinical responsibilities while maintaining high standards of patient care. Qualifications Valid RN license with current state licensure; prior experience working as a perioperative nurse in an operating room setting is required. Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic technique, suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and airway management. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with

ICD-10/ICD-9

coding is preferred. Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers highly desirable; experience in hospital medicine or emergency medicine is advantageous. Knowledge of surgical procedures across multiple specialties including ophthalmology, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), trauma medicine, and pediatrics. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology relevant to perioperative care. Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication skills within multidisciplinary teams; experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are beneficial.
