Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in the school community by supporting a student as a dedicated 1:1 nurse. This contract opportunity is available now and runs through May 21, 2027, with the possibility of extended school year (ESY) assignments. The role is located near Basehor, KS, and is ideal for a compassionate RN or LPN/LVN eager to work in an educational setting. Scheduled hours are Fridays from approximately 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, offering a unique chance to provide consistent, individualized care for a student with a tracheostomy.
Key Qualifications:
Active RN or LPN/LVN license in Kansas Previous experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or similar environments preferred Strong competency working with tracheostomy care and related procedures Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families Current CPR/BLS certification Ability to maintain confidentiality and display professionalism at all times
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 nursing care for a student with a trach in the school setting Monitor health status, administer medications, and respond to medical needs throughout the school day Communicate effectively with the student's family and the wider educational team Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to all school and state regulations Provide emergency interventions if needed and support a safe environment This role offers a rewarding schedule, allowing you to focus on one student and truly impact their school experience.
