1 Description American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring telemetry and post-PCI experience along with an active KY or compact RN license. Details Work on a 46-bed 4th Floor Med/Surg unit Staffing includes charge nurses, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, nurse externs, and unit clerks based on census Patient ratio of 6:1 Uses GE Apex Pro telemetry, Hoyer lift, Sara Steady, Baxter IV pumps, iMobile, Alaris PCA pump, Welch Allen vitals machine, and glucometer Documentation completed in Meditech Expanse Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Scheduled every other weekend, three 12-hour shifts per week May float to 3 South (post-surgical med/surg) or PCU (telemetry overflow) Performs telemetry monitoring and paracentesis procedures on the unit Requirements Active KY or compact RN license required BLS required, ACLS preferred Current NIH Stroke Certification required annually Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required General Med/Surg skills including EKG interpretation, CPAP management, and port access Telemetry and post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) experience required Preferred experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, drains, post-dialysis assessments, central lines, and blood transfusions US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration One professional reference required (two required for Florida or Missouri candidates) No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Provide direct patient care within a Magnet-designated acute care facility accredited by The Joint Commission Unit fully supported by a director, manager, and clinical educator with strong interdisciplinary collaboration Team communicates and celebrates achievements through GroupMe Many travelers extend contracts due to strong teamwork and unit culture Unit regularly receives new equipment and welcomes staff feedback on workflow improvements Recognition programs include Daisy nominations and biweekly staff/patient appreciation prizes Dress code requires navy blue or gray scrubs; royal blue scrubs are not permitted as this color is reserved for OB/LD staff Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not acceptedCareer Insights for Medical Surgery Registered Nurse
