1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III Neonatal Critical Care Unit position requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel experience. Details Level III Neonatal Critical Care Unit setting Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) Every other weekend required No call requirements Epic charting system used Patient population includes neonates under 24-28 weeks through greater than 34 weeks Attends high-risk deliveries Manages patients requiring ventilator support (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), oscillators, Bubble CPAP, and HFNC Requirements Active LA RN license or compact license required at time of consideration (pending not accepted) BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required Prior travel experience required Epic charting experience required Teaching hospital experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations Experience with high alert medication administration including IV vasopressors and anti-seizure medications Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) and neonatal abstinence syndrome management Two recent supervisor references required Any license hits must be disclosed along with a personal statement Additional Information Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care including APGAR scoring, developmental care, and patient/family teaching Manage feedings including bottle, breast, and gavage, and support breastfeeding/breast milk handling Perform sepsis work-ups and follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols Teal scrubs required First-time travelers will not be considered for this unit Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel positions Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate
