Job Description

Broad Reach Healthcare in Chatham, Cape Cod, is looking for a full-time Infection Preventionist Nurse , to play a key role in protecting the health and well-being of our residents, staff, and visitors by implementing and overseeing infection control programs and ensuring adherence to infection prevention protocols.
Infection Preventionist Nurse Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Maintain Infection Control Programs :
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the facility's infection prevention and control program in compliance with regulatory standards.
Surveillance and Monitoring :
Monitor infection rates, track outbreaks, and conduct surveillance activities. Provide data analysis and reporting to identify trends and potential concerns.
Training and Education :
Conduct regular in-service training for staff on infection prevention practices, proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and other infection control measures.
Policy Development :
Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and update infection control policies and procedures, ensuring they meet current CDC, state, and local health department guidelines.
Outbreak Management :
Take a lead role in managing and containing any infectious outbreaks within the facility. Coordinate with public health authorities as needed.
Resident and Family Communication :
Provide education to residents and families on infection prevention, especially for those with chronic conditions or compromised immune systems.
Documentation and Reporting :
Maintain accurate records of infection-related incidents and reporting to the appropriate health agencies.
Infection Preventionist Nurse Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required (active and in good standing) Certification in Infection Control (CIC) must be obtained Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an infection control role in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting is preferred Strong knowledge of infection control practices, CDC guidelines, and state and federal regulations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Full-Time Benefits include: Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance 401K + match Shift and weekend differentials Paid Time Off and Vacation Voluntary Disability, Home, and Auto Insurance Career Growth & Further Education opportunities Sick Days Health and wellness programs/discounts
