Job Description

Provides assistance with nursing care of patients as needed under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Nursing care is provided in accordance with the stated philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Services Department and regulatory agencies. The PCT/Student Nurse is accountable for the aspects of nursing care they are directed to provide within their scope of practice. The PCT/Student Nurse will be providing patient care in various areas within Perioperative Services including PACU, Preop, Endoscopy and Same Day Surgery.
  • Education o High School diploma or equivalent required. o Must be currently enrolled in a professional or practical nursing program
  • Experience o At least one medical surgical clinical rotation required o Acute care experience preferred.
  • Licensure and/or Certification o BLS healthcare provider required. o Certified Nursing Assistant strongly preferred
  • Skills o Ability to take vitals.
o Communication skills. o Interpersonal skills. o Excellent customer service skills. o Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. o Computer skills. o Ability to maintain confidential information
