In this assignment, youll serve as a bus-riding nurseensuring student safety during morning transit to special education programs, specifically for students requiring skilled medical care such as g-tube, O2 monitoring, seizure precautions, and allergy management.
Required Qualifications:
Active Massachusetts LPN or RN license Minimum 1 year of pediatric or school nursing experience Confidence caring for students with complex medical needs Comfort with g-tube care, suctioning, seizure protocols (Valtoco PRN), and oxygen monitoring Ability to provide emergency intervention and ongoing clinical assessment during bus transit
Key Responsibilities:
Accompany and supervise students during morning bus rides (approx. 7.5 hours/week; 6:157:45 AM) Manage care for students with chronic health conditions, including seizure disorders, diabetes, respiratory needs, and allergies Monitor for medical emergencies and implement interventions as needed Maintain accurate documentation and clear communication with school staff and transportation teams
