Job Description

Canventa Life Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team to play a pivotal role in our mission to support medical research through high-quality blood and bone marrow collections. As a Registered Nurse, you will manage the donor journey by screening participants for Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved studies, educating the community, and performing clinical procedures includingwhole blood, leukapheresis, and bone marrow collections. You will serve as a vital link between the clinic and the community, ensuring donor safety, confidentiality, and an optimal experience while strictly adhering to IRB protocols, internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and external regulations. Beyond clinical execution and meticulous data documentation, you will support the integrity of the donor program through quality management, administrative duties, and the professional development of staff. Please note that this is a per diem position, with hours scheduled based on operational needs. However, 8 hours per week are guaranteed, with shifts scheduled during the day, Monday through Friday. Duties and Responsibilities Perform donor health assessments and health history interviews to determine eligibility, while executing venipuncture, venous access, and the collection of whole blood, leukapheresis, and bone marrow specimens Ensure the well-being of participants by providing education, administering mobilization medications, and managing the prevention, treatment, and documentation of adverse events Maintain strict adherence to
HIPAA, IRB
protocols, and state/federal regulations through meticulous record-keeping and data validation in the Donor Information System Monitor laboratory reports, maintain temperature-controlled environments, and perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure a safe, quality-controlled clinical setting Coordinate daily workflow between nursing and laboratory services, assisting with staff training, oversight, and continuous process improvement to enhance clinic efficiency Manage accurate specimen labeling, maintain detailed collection logs, and perform non-technical laboratory duties as assigned by the Senior Nurse Manager or Nurse Director Knowledge and Qualifications Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution with a current, active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license and CPR certification Minimum of 3-5 years of RN experience in a clinical or donor setting and strong proficiency in venipuncture and IV skills is required Prior experience in oncology, apheresis, or blood banking is considered an asset Strong understanding of laboratory testing, equipment care, safety precautions, and record-keeping Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work independently, maintain strict confidentiality, and build relationships across technical and non-technical teams

$45.00 - $60.00 per hour
