Job Description
Wise Medical Staffing is seeking a dedicated Pediatric ICU Nurse to deliver high-acuity care to critically ill children in a hospital intensive care setting. In this contract role, you will assess and monitor complex pediatric patients, administer medications and infusions, manage ventilators and critical equipment, and respond to rapid changes in condition. You'll collaborate closely with physicians and the care team while supporting and educating families. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the ICUContinuously assess, monitor, and document patient status and responses to treatment Administer medications, infusions, and advanced therapies per physician orders and protocols Operate and monitor ventilators, cardiac monitors, and other critical care equipment Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team Educate and support patients' families on conditions, treatments, and care plans Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards Participate in care conferences, hand-offs, and accurate electronic charting Respond rapidly to emergencies, codes, and changes in patient condition Support Wise Medical Staffing's culture of integrity, communication, and teamwork Required Skills Pediatric critical care nursing Ventilator management Hemodynamic monitoring Pediatric medication administration and titration Central line and infusion therapy management ECG interpretation Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Family-centered care and education Emergency/code response skills Infection control and patient safety protocols
