Job Description
Position:
RN- School Nurse
REPORTS TO
PrincipalSalary:
To be negotiated based on experience, per the Union ContractRESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in managing the school health services program with the Coordinator of Student Services and the Principal in compliance with school district health policies, procedures, and protocols-Strengthens and facilitates the educational process by improving and protecting the health status of students-Focus on the prevention of illnesses, early detection and intervention for health problems
- Handles medical needs, care plans, medication plans and communication with parents and medical specialists.
- Handles students or staff that present with symptoms resembling suspected
COVID-19
in accordance with the School Policies and Protocols- Provide other nursing care as needed
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide school health services to students-Maintain health records including daily health visits-Document mandated school screenings and immunization compliance-Coordinate school health activities and health education-Serve as a liaison between school, home and community regarding health issues-Communicate with families regarding school attendance-Other duties as assigned by the Principal and the Coordinator of Student Services
QUALIFICATIONS
- MA License Certified RN (salary TBD based on certification
- Current Massachusetts certification in CPR, AED and First Aid-Approved CORI and Fingerprinting results-No experience required-Citizenship, residency or work visa required-Be at least 18 years old
- Be in good physical health
- Up-to-date immunization records.
Salary:
$45,174- $93,835 (subject to change
- due to pending contract negotiations) based on experience and credentials.
