Local candidates accepted at a lower rate Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent ICU and/or CCU experience Current Massachusetts RN License on file and active BLS certification required ACLS certification required Unit Overview This critical care unit provides care for a diverse patient population, including: Trauma patients Surgical patients Obstetric (OB) patients Neurological patients Medically unstable patients Cardiac patients Acutely ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention Nurses in this unit are responsible for caring for patients who require hourly (Q1H) or more frequent monitoring, assessments, and interventions . Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced critical care nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing complex, high-acuity patients while delivering exceptional patient care.

Active Massachusetts RN License Apply today to join a highly skilled critical care team providing advanced care to some of the hospital's most acute patient populations. The Critical Care Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in a variety of critical care settings. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. Responsibilities include monitoring, assessment, vital sign monitoring, ventilator management, medication administration, intravenous insertion and infusion, central line care, catheters, and maintenance of a running record of the patient's status. The Critical Care RN must be prepared at all times to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other lifesaving measures for the patients in their care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition Collects, documents, analyzes, and interprets data and other information from healthcare team members Communicates nursing interventions, expected outcomes and the time frames for expected completion to other members of the hospital health care team Functions as a resource to the health care team members in planning for patient's discharge Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education Compares expected and actual outcomes of care and identifies deviation from the plan of care Adheres to facility/client policies, procedures and protocols at all times Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices One year of critical care experience is preferred Minimum of one year acute or critical care experience preferred Current BLS card; current

ACLS/PALS
