COMPENSATION
Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website. All internal applicants who are interested in this position should apply within ten days of this posting. A CORI application must be completed with our Central Office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Managing a comprehensive and coordinated health service program for students within the school setting. Implement mandated health screening programs. Manage the schools' medication program. Assess children for a wide range of physical and behavioral illnesses. Implement disease management education for children with illnesses such as diabetes and asthma. Process may involve children's families. Prevent spread of communicable diseases. Provide emergency care. Coordinate health service and education efforts with teachers, administrators, health educators, food service personnel, etc. Collaborate with parent community health care providers and agencies. Maintain comprehensive and cumulative health records for students. Write on the job injury reports for all staff members and forward reports to the Central Office for processing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 2 years experience in pediatrics, community health or related field. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Bi-Lingual is a plus! Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing License as an RN Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as a school Nurse Citizenship, residency or work visa required
