Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description
Infusion Registered Nurse:
- Wednesday and Thursday only
- IV therapy skill is a must.
- Checking information from patient regarding illness, allergies, surgeries and insurance verification.
- Obtain vital signs, temperature, pulse and blood pressure.
- Determine dosage of medication based upon weight and covert to kg.
- Obtain signed consent form from patient.
- Obtain peripheral IV access.
- Prepare infusion medication by diluting and infusing in appropriate size IV fluids according to standard of medication.
- Begin infusion.
- Monitor vital signs, blood pressure and pulse accordingly.
- Discontinue IV access and document accordingly.
- Schedule appointment for next infusion according to the Physician's direction.
