Full-Time About Washington Vascular Specialists Washington Vascular Specialists (WVS) is a growing vascular practice dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered vascular and cardiovascular care. Our team works collaboratively to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of vascular conditions in an outpatient setting. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our clinical team at our Takoma Park, Maryland office . The ideal candidate is a compassionate, organized, and clinically confident provider who enjoys working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals. Position Summary The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients with vascular and cardiovascular conditions under the direction and collaboration of our physicians. This position will primarily be based at our Takoma Park office and will include patient evaluations, follow-up visits, clinical assessments, treatment planning, patient education, and coordination of care. The successful candidate should be comfortable managing patients with complex medical histories and working in a fast-paced specialty practice. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations. Evaluate new and established patients with vascular and cardiovascular conditions. Assess patients with conditions such as peripheral arterial disease (PAD), peripheral vascular disease (PVD), venous insufficiency, lower-extremity wounds, edema, and other vascular disorders. Review diagnostic testing, laboratory results, vascular studies, imaging, and other clinical information. Develop and implement appropriate treatment and follow-up plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. Perform pre-procedure and post-procedure patient evaluations and follow-up care. Monitor patients following vascular and endovascular procedures. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, procedures, lifestyle modifications, and treatment plans. Prescribe medications and treatments within the scope of practice and applicable state regulations. Identify changes in patient condition and communicate significant clinical findings to the appropriate physician. Coordinate referrals and collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, nursing facilities, and other members of the patient's healthcare team. Complete accurate, thorough, and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record. Assist with maintaining continuity of care and appropriate patient follow-up. Participate in quality improvement, clinical operations, and other initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control standards, and all WVS clinical policies and procedures. Perform other clinical duties within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice as needed. Qualifications Current Nurse Practitioner license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Maryland. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred. Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain DEA registration, as applicable. Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and the clinical team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Comfortable working with electronic medical records and clinical technology. Preferred Experience Previous experience in vascular surgery, cardiovascular medicine, interventional radiology, wound care, internal medicine, surgery, or a related specialty is strongly preferred. Experience evaluating patients with peripheral arterial disease, venous disease, diabetic vascular complications, and lower-extremity wounds is a plus. Experience with outpatient specialty care and pre- and post-procedure patient management is preferred. Candidates with strong Nurse Practitioner experience who are interested in developing expertise in vascular medicine are also encouraged to apply. $118,351.09 - $142,530.34 per year
