3 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring open heart experience and comfort floating to ED and step-down units. Details Critical Care unit within an acute care hospital ICU patient ratios of 1:2 (1:1 for special populations); step-down ratios of 1:4 ED assignments follow ICU ratios when caring for ICU holds Uses Cerner EMR Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Every other weekend work required, with at least 2 shifts requested per weekend No on-call requirements Floating to ED and step-down units required Requirements Active MI RN license required at time of submission Compact licenses not accepted Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Open heart experience required Comfortable floating to ED and step-down units Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, and SCRN certifications are a plus Neuro surgical and additional open heart experience preferred Prior travel nursing experience preferred Additional Information Collaborates with physicians to develop and carry out patient care plans Provides bedside nursing care and carries out medical orders Delegates and oversees care team members including Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, and Surgical Service Assistants Assumes a leadership role including precepting/mentoring new staff and students Participates in patient care conferences and discharge/transfer planning Navy blue scrub color required Subject to a strict three-strike attendance policy affecting continuation of assignment Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within a 35-mile radius of the facility No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed First-time travelers are welcome to apply
