Job Description

The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of wound care treatment programs for residents within the skilled nursing facility. This role ensures compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations while promoting optimal skin health, healing, and prevention of pressure injuries and other wounds. The Wound Care Nurse serves as a clinical resource, educator, and advocate for residents, families, and staff regarding wound prevention and management.

Supervises Treatment Nurse as per scope of practicePlans, assigns, and directs work in alignment with resident needs and staff capabilitiesPrepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safetyReceives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as neededTransfers employees among units per staffing demandsCompletes performance evaluations and provides input on hiring, disciplining, or terminating staffAdjusts break schedules and resolves staff concernsOversee unit operations during absence of higher-level managementUse independent judgment in accordance with company policies and applicable lawsEducation and/or
Experience:
At least two years' experience working in Wound Care preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse with required state licensure.

Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
