Superior Hospice is looking for a Registered Nurse to provide hospice visits throughout the Southern Greater Twin Cities Metro Area . You'll bring skilled nursing directly to patients in their homes and senior living communities, helping patients and families navigate a stage of life that can feel overwhelming without the right support. This isn't about doing less as a nurse. It's about using everything you know for a different purpose. Your Nursing Skills Take on a Different Meaning Here You've spent your career learning how to assess patients, manage symptoms, recognize changes, educate families, coordinate care, and respond when something isn't right. In hospice, those skills become incredibly valuable. You'll use your clinical judgment to manage pain, shortness of breath, anxiety, agitation, nausea, wounds, medication concerns, and changes in condition . But you'll also help families understand what they're seeing, what they can expect, and how they can best support someone they love. There may not always be another treatment to pursue. There is always something you can do to improve comfort, reduce fear, provide education, and make the experience better . A spouse may be afraid they're giving medication incorrectly. An adult child may not understand why their parent's breathing has changed. A family may disagree about what should happen next. They need a nurse who can bring clinical knowledge and calm communication into the room. You'll assess the patient and manage their symptoms, but you'll also educate caregivers, answer questions, explain changes, coordinate with the hospice team, and help families feel more prepared for what's ahead. Sometimes the most meaningful thing you provide isn't an intervention. It's confidence that the patient and family aren't navigating this alone. What You'll Do Provide skilled hospice nursing visits throughout the Southern Greater Twin Cities Metro Area Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing patient evaluations Manage pain, dyspnea, nausea, anxiety, agitation, wounds, medications, and other symptoms Recognize changes in condition and respond appropriately Evaluate and provide comfort-focused nursing interventions Educate patients and caregivers about medications, disease progression, comfort measures, and what to expect Coordinate medication and treatment changes with physicians and providers Help anticipate patient needs before symptoms escalate Support patients in remaining safely and comfortably in their preferred environment whenever possible Collaborate with hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, physicians, facility staff, pharmacies, and other members of the interdisciplinary team Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in an on-call and weekend rotation Your Nursing Background Can Translate to Hospice You don't have to come directly from hospice to make a difference here. We'd especially like to hear from Registered Nurses with experience in Home Health, Oncology, Palliative Care, ICU, Critical Care, Emergency Nursing, Med/Surg, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, or Community Nursing . If you've cared for complex patients, recognized changes in condition, educated worried families, managed symptoms, or learned how to remain calm when everyone else in the room is anxious, you've already developed skills that can translate exceptionally well.
