We're looking for a Registered Nurse to provide hospice visits throughout the Southwest Twin Cities Metro Area . You'll bring skilled nursing directly to patients wherever they call home, developing relationships, providing comfort, educating families, and helping patients experience their final chapter with dignity, peace, and as much quality of life as possible . Your Full Attention. Your day won't revolve around managing an entire hospital assignment or constantly wondering which patient needs you most. When you walk through the door, that patient is your priority . You'll have time to assess what they're experiencing, listen to what they're telling you, answer the family's questions, address symptoms, provide education, and make sure everyone understands what comes next. That doesn't mean hospice nursing is easy. You'll encounter complex symptoms, difficult conversations, changing conditions, and emotional situations. Instead of only asking, "How do we treat this disease?" you're also asking, "What matters most to this patient right now?" Maybe it's controlling pain enough for someone to comfortably spend time with their family. Maybe it's helping a spouse understand what changes to expect. Maybe it's preventing an unnecessary trip to the emergency room. Or maybe it's simply giving a patient and their family confidence that they aren't navigating this alone. You'll still use your clinical skills every day. You'll assess, manage symptoms, recognize changes in condition, coordinate medications and treatments, communicate with physicians, and determine when additional interventions are needed. But your nursing care is centered around comfort, dignity, quality of life, and the individual goals of each patient and family . What You'll Do Provide skilled hospice nursing visits throughout the Southwest Twin Cities Metro Area Perform comprehensive nursing assessments Evaluate and manage pain, dyspnea, anxiety, agitation, wounds, nausea, and other symptoms Recognize changes in condition and respond appropriately Administer and evaluate comfort-focused interventions Provide medication and symptom-management education Help patients and families understand disease progression and what to expect Communicate clinical changes to physicians and the interdisciplinary hospice team Coordinate with social workers, chaplains, hospice aides, facility staff, pharmacies, and other healthcare partners Provide emotional support and education to patients and families Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in an on-call and weekend rotation You Don't Need a Lifetime of Hospice Experience Great hospice nurses come from many different clinical backgrounds. If you've worked in Home Health, Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, Med/Surg, Oncology, ICU, ER, Palliative Care , or another environment caring for medically complex patients, you've already developed skills that can translate exceptionally well into hospice. What matters is your ability to assess confidently, communicate compassionately, work independently, and understand that excellent nursing isn't always about doing more medically .
