Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school nursing opportunity supporting students with diverse medical and educational needs near Liberty, MO. This contract role provides variety and impact as you serve as a floating Registered Nurse, working throughout the district to ensure students receive the highest standard of care and support. As an integral part of the educational community, you'll collaborate with other professionals, adapt to changing needs, and directly assist students with specialized health requirements. Desired Qualifications and Skills:
Active RN licensure in the state of Missouri School nursing experience or clinical background caring for children/adolescents strongly preferred Confidence performing multiple G-tube feedings daily Skilled in safely operating Hoyer lifts and assisting with diapering needs Experience administering and tracking daily medications Preparedness to recognize and manage seizures appropriately Strong communicator, able to collaborate with educators, administrators, parents, and students Professional, positive, and flexible attitude Genuine interest in working with students who have autism and medical disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
Float between schools as assigned, providing essential nursing care and coverage as needed Support students with complex physical and cognitive needs using established protocols Perform skilled nursing tasks (G-tube feedings, lifts, medication administration, seizure management) Maintain accurate health documentation and medication logs Promote student well-being and a safe learning environment through clinical expertise and compassionate care Communicate timely updates and collaborate with the school team on health plans and student needs Embrace the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students while working in a collaborative, supportive district setting.
